Tuesday Tunes. ::: Stars by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. :::

Hello all!

Okay, I know I'm probably a little slow on this one, but did you know the library lets you check out CDs? You did? Of course you did; you are so cool and smart! One of my friends from work told me about this, so I headed to the Austin Public Library straight away. I ended up checking out "The Lion The Best The Beat" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, as well as several other CDs. In fact, you can check out up to 20 CDs at a time (you probably already knew that too).

Anyway, for this Tuesday Tunes, I am featuring "Stars" from the aforementioned CD. Considering how cool, and in-the-know you are, you've probably already heard this very song a million times. My apologies. I hope you'll forgive me for being so out of touch.

While listening to this CD, I heard a bit of a Sheryl Crow inspiration. Anyone else hear that? Particularly in "Never Go Back" and "Roulette." Give this song, and the album, a listen and let me know what you think.

Sunday Funnies. ::: (H)Air Curler. :::

Good morning! And happy Sunday to you. I hope you are soaking up every moment of this wonderful weekend.

Has your hair always wanted to be spun like cotton candy? Until I saw this infomercial, I didn't realize that was even a (safe) possibility. I just recently saw this commercial on TV, and I swear to you it was not 3am. In fact, it was 4pm. And it was on ABC Family (there was a Harry Potter marathon and I could not pull myself away). I literally laughed out loud, initially thinking that it was a pretend commercial. But, fortunately for you and me, it's real.

Okay, now go watch the commercial. I hope you laugh as hards as I did.

Tuesday Tunes. ::: San Francisco by The Mowgli's. :::

Happy Tuesday Tunes to you, my friend!

How was your weekend? I've been so busy lately I barely have enough time to post. And I apologize. My weekend was another jam packed couple of days. On Saturday, I went on a long walk around Town Lake and met friends for a movie (The Way, Way Back) at the Violet Crown. And then on Sunday, I went to the Mueller Farmer's Market with some friends from work and then we went over to Eastside Cafe for a superb brunch.

To begin your week, I'm featuring "San Francisco" by the Mowgli's. I've never seen this video so don't judge if you hate it. It's the song I love! And the city it was named after. Ahhh, San Fran!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this song as much as I have. Have a great week!

Sunday Funnies. ::: No Card, Just Cash. :::

Happy Sunday, Reader.

Here is one of those hilarious K-Y Commercials with the somewhat dysfunctional couples. This one was my roommate at the time and my favorite one. I present to you, Mr. and Mr. Patterson.

I love how they are both talking about totally different things. Hope this made you smile.

Sunday Funnies. ::: Birthday Funnies. :::

Happy Sunday to you, Reader. And Happy Birthday to me. (Did I just wish myself a Happy Birthday? Yep, I think I did.)

I'm feeling a lot of (self-inflicted) pressure to deliver something extra special and extra hilarious today because it is the day of my birth. To honor the occasion, I'm going to send myself SomeECards.

Okay, some of those don't apply, considering my current age. But at this point, they make me feel young, so that's why I've put them on the blog.

Two Truths and a Lie. ::: Fourth of July. :::

I'm not one to lie to you, Reader. And I don't intend to start now. With that said, I would love to say that July 4th went off without a hitch, but that would not be the truth. There were a couple several many "hitches". So, I'll let you decide which of these three things did not happen.

1) I was tripped up by a small dog, that was off leash, fell in the park, and skinned my knees.
2) A husky that had just been taking a dip in the lake, approached me and shook lake water all over me.
3) Upon meeting my friend Natalie's dog, Geo, for the first time, he peed on me. Twice.

Happy Birthday, America. From me and SRV.

In truth, there were far more "hitches" and some that did not include dogs. So I'll continue the list:

4) I went to Molly's house with all of the ingredients to make brownies, only Molly didn't have a pan. And thus, we were not able to make brownies. Oh, and I forgot some of the food I had intended to bring with me.
5) Molly's Mama (who tried on three or four outfits before picking the perfect one) sat in a large amount of melted chocolate. The perfect outfit she had decided on included none other than White Shorts! (Insert another wardrobe change) We continued to find melted chocolate for the next couple of hours.
6) A dog peed on our cooler of food. And it's owner did nothing about it, except for telling us that the dog is "rough around the edges."

Even with all that went wrong, we made the best out of it. And I think that says a lot about all of us. We triumphed (after many "umphs"). We made the best of a bad situation (or situations). And we were rewarded. We were able to meet up with our friend Natalie, which is not always easy in huge crowds and we had amazing seats for the fireworks show. So, I'll put July 4th, 2013 in the win column.

And for those of you who are wondering, number 1 is the lie.

Tuesday Tunes. ::: Picture by Kid Rock ft. Sheryl Crow. :::

Hello friends! And happy Tuesday Tunes! How was your weekend? My weekend was fairly tame, but I did go float the river with my friends and co-workers this week. I also celebrated the Super Moon with a DQ Blizzard (which Molly and I received for free!).

Anyway... I heard this song on my way to work the other day and I could not help but belt out the tune. I just love when lyrics pop back into my head after years of not being used. I hope you'll enjoy this song.
